Humane Skunk Exclusion & Eviction

Skunks are quiet, gentle, and highly beneficial creatures that eat garden pests like grubs, beetles, and wasps. They only spray when they feel cornered or threatened. When skunks burrow under porches, decks, or crawlspaces, they can cause odor issues and structural instability. Go On, Git! provides structural exclusion barriers and specialized odor neutralization to keep your property protected and skunks safe in nature.

Why Trapping Burrows Fails

Trapping and removing a skunk is a temporary band-aid. Here is why traditional trapping fails:

  • Burrow Attraction: A skunk burrow is an appealing, pre-dug home for secondary wildlife. If you trap the resident skunk but do not seal the entry points, new skunks or opossums will move in immediately.
  • The Spray Hazard: Trapping a skunk in a wire cage is extremely stressful. A frightened, trapped skunk is highly likely to spray, creating a severe odor zone directly on your property.
  • Cycle of Subscriptions: You can pay a traditional trapper repeatedly to remove skunks, but the only permanent solution is to block physical access to the space.

Our Under-Structure Trench Exclusion

Instead of trapping, our licensed technicians use native block barriers that address digging behaviors. We dig a shallow perimeter trench around the deck or porch, installing heavy-duty galvanized steel hardware cloth mesh in a outward-facing “L-shape”. When a skunk attempts to dig back under the deck, it hits the horizontal mesh barrier and stops. We also install temporary one-way doors so any skunk currently resting under your home can safely leave at night and find alternative shelter, without ever being trapped or harmed.

Advanced Thiol Odor Neutralization

Skunk spray is made of chemical compounds called thiols, which bind tightly to organic materials. Traditional deodorizers simply mask the smell, but temperature or moisture changes will reactivate the odor. At Go On, Git!, our technicians use professional bio-enzymatic neutralizers that chemically break the thiol bonds, oxidizing the compounds to eliminate the smell permanently from crawlspaces and structural wood.

Begin with a Wildlife Safety Assessment

Every home exclusion project starts with a detailed $149 Wildlife Safety Assessment and Consultation. Our licensed Wildlife Control Agents perform a safety walk-through of your crawlspace and deck structures, deploy thermal imaging to check nesting spaces, and deliver a custom structural sealing proposal.
